The Battles of Guararapes were fought on April 18 and 19, 1648 and then on February 19, 1649, between the Dutch Army and the troops of the Portuguese Empire. The battles took place in Montes dos Guararapes, located in the current Jaboatão dos Guararapes, a municipality in the Metropolitan Region of Recife, in the then Captaincy of Pernambuco. Consider as one of the hypotheses to be tested in the game that both the Dutch reconnaissance in force had been more controlled, and the Portuguese-Brazilian ambushes had been more decisive. And then you will see which maneuver will prevail, both being instructed with the best and with maximum effort. You have, in an insert in these rules, the game pieces and the game board, but you will need to acquire a ten-sided die (d10) or adapt to use two six-sided dice (d6). Regarding scales: for time, each shift corresponds to 30 minutes; for terrain, each hexagon (hex) is up to 50 meters; for the infantry troops game pieces, each strength point (SP) corresponds to 60 soldiers; for the cavalry troops game pieces, each SP corresponds to 10 soldiers; the game pieces of Brazilian artillery represent four cannons or culverins in each; while the Dutch, integrated into infantry units, had two cannons or culverins in those with two hexes, one in those with one hex.
