The Battle of Kadesh is one of the best known in history because it was the first that could be faithfully reconstructed in detail, based on records on both sides of the confrontation. Involving the Egyptians under Ramesses II, one of the best known pharaohs, and the Hittites (most allies) under King Muwattali, this battle for control of Syrian territory in the Levant has received considerable attention by many analysts over the years. In the simulation, the operational strategic surprise that the Hittites had reached when they first arrived at the selected battle site and the tactical surprise of the sudden appearance of a violent charge of their chariots on the flank of one of the Egyptian divisions will be followed by a more decisive Hittite infantry presence, accompaniment and support. The Hittite tactical maneuver will have two phases, the first being the destruction of the Ra Division and the conquest of the Egyptian encampment; and the second a mobile defense against the other Egyptian divisions.
